Copenhagen Meatballs

Ingredients
Meatballs
- 1 Pound Lean Ground Beef
- 1/2 Pound Ground Pork Sausage
- 3/4 Cup Bread Crumbs
- 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper
- 1 Whole Egg, Beaten
- 1/2 Cup Cold Water
- 1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
Sauce
- 3 Tablespoons Drippings From Meatballs
- 4 Tablespoons Flour
- 1 Whole Envelope Dehydrated Onion Soup
- 2 2/3 Cups Water
- 2/3 Cup Evaporated Milk
- 1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper
Directions
- Mix all meatball ingredients well and shape into small meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Brown in butter or shortening in a heavy and large skillet about 8-10 minutes until done.
- Remove meatballs and prepare sauce in skillet.
- Return meatballs to sauce. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
