Blackened Tilapia


Blackened Seasoning
  • 1 Tablespoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 Teaspoon Thyme
  • 1 Teaspoon Oregano
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Fresh Cracked Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 4 Whole Tilapia Filets


  1. In a small bowl, combine all blackened seasonings. Liberally coat both sides of each tilapia filet with the spices.
  2. Melt butter into skillet over medium heat. Add two of the filets at a time and cook for about two minutes on each side, until the spices have turned a deep burgundy color and fish is thoroughly cooked.
